Job Description
The Department of Literature, Media, and Writing at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2026. We seek candidates with expertise in First-Year Writing, with preference given to those with additional background in Multilingual Writing Pedagogies, Media Studies, and Technical Writing.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Composition & Rhetoric, English, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field
- Ability to teach College Writing and Co-requisite College Writing
- Possibility of teaching other courses in rhetoric and composition based on areas of expertise
- Commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching
- Active engagement in scholarly or creative activities
- Committee service, including campus wide and departmental governance, and academic advising
