Job Description
Hermeus is a venture capital-backed aerospace and defense technology company focused on developing high-speed products for the Department of Defense. They are seeking a Flight Software Engineering Intern for Spring and Summer 2026, supporting vehicle testing and development for a hypersonic quarter-horse program. The role involves developing and debugging onboard flight software, contributing to hardware-in-the-loop test setups, and collaborating with the Flight Software team.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages.
- Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s).
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus' mission.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
