Advanced EMT - Huntsville - PRN - Shift Varies

Administers life support care to sick and injured persons in a pre-hospital setting, following statewide Treatment Protocols and HEMSI Medical Control Physicians. Provides patient care, documents patient information, and maintains unit readiness.

Requirements

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs
• Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel by HEMSI approved communication methods
• Maintains up to date credentials regarding licensing and protocol changes
• Documents patient care in all HEMSI approved reporting methods
• Observes all safety and security procedures for their vehicle and station
• Maintains unit in constant state of readiness through supplies and equipment restocking
• Efficiently cleans and performs minor maintenance to emergency vehicle
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle and station
• Assists in direction and coordination of additional personnel on scene
• Faithfully reports to work and maintains acceptable attendance
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and family members
• Meets the HEMSI standard on response times
