Sociology Instructor

Hinds Community College seeks a full-time sociology instructor starting Spring 2026 academic year. Instructors are to teach assigned classes according to the overall goals and objectives of the department. Additional responsibilities include keeping assigned office hours, participating in department and college committee work, and submitting necessary paperwork.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Sociology or a master's with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology coursework
• At least three years of teaching experience on the college level
• Understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college mission
• Ability to create and facilitate student-centered environments
• Knowledge of contemporary and innovative methods of instructional delivery and curriculum development
