Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer position at Holiday Extras, responsible for leading a small team of engineers, setting technical direction for payment platform, and championing AI tools and automation.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in backend development with expertise in building scalable, reliable, and secure systems using Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience leading and line managing engineers
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, including PSPs, alternative payment methods, PCI-DSS, and Payment Services Directives
• Outcome-driven mindset with ability to articulate how work has improved key metrics for payment platforms
• Pragmatic approach to technical decisions
• Strong communication skills with ability to adapt style for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience managing stakeholders across range of teams and disciplines
• Proactive attitude to identifying new opportunities and technologies
• Genuine passion for sharing knowledge
