Senior Backend Engineer

HomeBuddy is a fast-growing home improvement platform looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their collaborative engineering team. The role involves designing and implementing scalable systems using PHP (Laravel) and modern frameworks, working closely with product managers and designers to deliver high-value features on time, and championing systems thinking to align technical choices with business goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional development experience, with experience in PHP/Laravel
• Ideally, 3+ years of experience in Golang or professional experience with multiple modern languages or frameworks
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns
• Experience creating or working with C4 diagrams and system architecture documentation
• Proven ability to estimate work accurately and deliver within agreed timelines
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and Linux environments
• Experience with o11y tools
• Advanced English
