Supervisor, Sea Lions & Penguins

The Houston Zoo is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to supervise the Sea Lions & Penguins department. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine animal husbandry and training, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in zoology, biology, animal husbandry, or a related field
• 6 years of experience in animal care at an AZA or equivalent facility
• Supervisory and/or leadership experience
• Open Water SCUBA certification
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to situations
• Strong interpersonal, team building, and communication skills
• Proof of vaccination against COVID-19
