Backend Engineer - Shared Architecture

Hyperexponential is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their Shared Architecture team (Sharc) in Warsaw. The role focuses on building essential systems that power the entire engineering organization, including SSO, API gateways, and data platforms. The ideal candidate will design and develop backend services in Rust and Kotlin, improve system reliability, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to architecture discussions. This role offers a chance to shape the technical foundation for a fast-growing product company and work on high-impact projects.

Requirements

• Solid experience as a backend engineer, ideally in platform or infrastructure teams
• Proficiency in Rust or Kotlin [or other JVM language]
• Experience working with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
• Strong grasp of API design, authentication/authorisation, and secure system patterns
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly
• A passion for clean, testable, well-documented code
