Special Education Teacher - IDEA Montopolis College Prep (Immediate Opening)

IDEA Special Education teachers are responsible for the achievement and support of special education students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. They develop individualized plans, provide in-class support, and teach key academic subjects. The focus is on bridging the gap between home and school, and ensuring student success in college.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of core academic subject assignments
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to a multitude of situations
• Ability to facilitate Admission, Review and Dismissal meetings
• Record of results for students
• Fourty+ hours spent at school per week
• Must be part of the IDEA Team
