Indian Creek School seeks a part-time Upper School History Teacher for a 6-month position from December 2025 to June 2026. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator with a desire to drive instruction in Upper School History classes, aligning with the school's mission and values.
Requirements
- Teach two or three sections of Upper School (Grades 9-12) History, including AP level courses.
- Use a variety of pedagogical approaches, assessments, and strategies to drive instruction in Upper School History classes.
- Provide feedback on student assignments in a timely and constructive manner.
- Maintain an online course page on the School’s LMS aligned with academic standards and expectations.
- Collaborate with History colleagues committed to building reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills while centering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Develop and deliver interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Use a variety of assessments, such as student portfolios and project-based learning, to measure student understanding and drive instruction.
- Work with the Upper School principal and the Upper School team to ensure a positive and engaging Upper School experience for students.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings, including professional development days.
- Other duties as assigned by the Upper School Principal.
