Ingevity is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support the plant's process control systems, including network devices and PLC control machines. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls, with a focus on efficient communications between OT and IT networks and teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls
- Discrete manufacturing environment preferred
- Excellent technical and engineering skills
- Communication skills including being a team member, leading group meetings, multi-tasking, and use of problem-solving tools
- Experience with networks, firewall rules, and security concepts required
- Hypervisor experience preferred
- Ability to bridge the technical and executive levels of the business and explain to both
- Experience integrating machines with the Ignition platform preferred
- A+ Certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, Windows (server and 10/11), DNS, DHCP, ethernet, standard computer components, and WiFi
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs and Factory Talk HMIs
- Knowledge of machine controls, sensors, I/O, drives, and instrumentation required
- Experience with Fanuc robots preferred
- Experience with Cognex vision preferred
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- On-call production support as needed
