Job Description
CMC is seeking a Quality Intern to support their operations in Knoxville, TN. The internship provides hands-on experience in various aspects of the industrial processes within their recycling centers, fabrication plants, and manufacturing facilities. This role offers training and support to advance career prospects within the steel, construction reinforcement, and ground stabilization industries.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude of problem solving
- Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
- Knowledge of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Time Study, 5S, Kanban, Standardization, JIT, PDCA
- Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship
- Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to understand and apply ISO work instructions and standard operating practices and procedures
