We're looking for a Consultant, Commercial Property Claims – Large Loss (National Scale) to join our growing team! As a Claims Consultant in our Property Large Loss team, you will handle multi-line complex claims through all distribution channels. You will be responsible for the direct handling and monitoring of complex first party and third-party claims with exposures in Canada and Internationally.
Requirements
- Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate and resolve large and complex commercial property claims generally with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kind of loss within Canada and internationally.
- Engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages.
- Mentor, guide and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long term succession planning.
- Train colleagues on complex claims handling.
- Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned.
- Provide brilliant customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development and loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control and expense management.
- Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations.
- Effectively negotiate claims when appropriate.
- Attend settlement conferences and trials.
- Attend loss locations and other client and broker meetings, when appropriate.
