The Regional Emergency Surge Officer – Regional Crisis Support Facility will coordinate IOM's emergency operations and emergency surge operations in countries in the region affected by crisis. The successful candidate will also be expected to deploy and coordinate the surge team during deployment, in coordination with RO Bangkok Humanitarian response and Recovery unit, other RO, HQ and the Chief of Mission of the country of deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Humanitarian Response, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or in a field related to emergency response and humanitarian assistance
- Proven experience in emergency response and humanitarian assistance, with a focus on coordination and team management
- Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, emergency response standards, and guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on timeliness and efficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and partnership building
- Proven experience in resource mobilization and management, with a focus on budgeting and financial management
- Ability to represent IOM in humanitarian partner meetings and ensure adequate liaison with other relevant stakeholders
- Frequent and regular duty travel to the field to monitor emergency programs and to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions
