Job Description
This Windpark Standortplanung / GIS (m/f/d) position at Gießen, Hessen, focuses on leading a team of 5 experts in GIS applications to support land acquisition, project development, and infrastructure upgrades in the wind energy sector. The role involves developing GIS infrastructure, operating web GIS services, and providing data-driven support to project teams. It requires strong leadership, communication skills, and technical expertise.
Requirements
- Completed degree in GIS, surveying, geography, or a comparable subject area.
- Many years of experience in GIS, ideally in the renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL with PostGIS extension.
- Experience with the migration of geographic data into relational databases.
- Experience with QGIS and scripting (Python, PyQGIS).
- Experience with MapStore and GeoServer (or comparable products).
- Experience with ETL processes for geospatial data.
- Knowledge of planning regulations and energy sector technical feasibility.
- Strong communication skills and analytical ability.
