Air Force Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) - Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA

The Air Force Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) provides 24/7 response to victims of intimate partner abuse, establishes a Victim's Safety Plan, and conducts risk assessments. The DAVA also provides information on military or civil actions available to promote safety, and accompanies clients to appointments or court proceedings when requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, Counseling or Behavioral Science, or related field
• 2 years of experience assisting and providing advocacy services to victims of domestic violence/abuse or sexual assault
• Basic Advocate Credential with designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist as approved and offered by the National Advocate Credentialing Program
• Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS) or American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/BLS (Heart Saver) Course
• Proof of immunization from Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza, and proof of a negative TB skin test
• Computer-proficient to work autonomously using Microsoft Office and possess data entry skills needed to create and maintain client files
