Principal Database Engineer, Data Engineering & Monetization

We are currently looking for a Principal Database Engineer, Data Engineering & Monetization in North America. This is a high-impact, senior-level role designed for an expert in database architecture and distributed systems.

Requirements

• Extensive experience architecting, operating, and optimizing PostgreSQL in large-scale, distributed systems with high availability and disaster recovery.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, including query planning, WAL mechanics, vacuum processes, and storage optimization.
• Proven track record of designing and maintaining highly distributed production databases with automated failover and self-healing capabilities.
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code, GitOps practices, security hardening, and SRE principles in database operations.
• Strong coding and debugging skills across full stack, from low-level systems to front-end components.
• Ability to influence organizational adoption of modern database technologies based on evidence and experience.
• Hands-on experience with distributed system challenges such as scaling, sharding, and multi-database support.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
