Staff Backend Engineer (Python), AI Engineering: Agent Foundations

We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer (Python) to develop the core infrastructure for AI agents that automate tasks and enhance productivity in software development workflows.

Requirements

• Several years of experience building Python web services in multi-service or distributed environments (FastAPI, Starlette)
• Proven ability to architect and lead complex technical projects from concept to production
• Strong experience with AI/ML technologies, including large language model integration and prompt engineering
• Deep understanding of performance optimization, distributed systems, observability, and scalability
• Experience mentoring and raising the technical capabilities of teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration in a remote, globally distributed team
• Familiarity with gRPC, and experience with other languages like Ruby, Go, or TypeScript is a plus
• Passion for AI-driven development and improving software engineering workflows
