Food Runners play a critical role in the pace, accuracy, and quality of service. You are responsible for delivering dishes from the kitchen to guests efficiently and precisely, maintaining food integrity, executing seat numbers, and supporting seamless communication between the kitchen, expo, and service team—ensuring every dish reaches the table exactly as intended.
Requirements
- 6+ months of FOH experience as a food runner or similar role in high-volume, upscale casual or fine dining preferred
- Strong understanding of seat numbers, table maps, and coursed service
- Ability to carry multiple plates and maneuver safely through a busy dining room
- Clear communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation; Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain)
- Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours)
- Lift and carry up to 35–40 lbs.; safely balance and maneuver loaded trays
- Work in environments with hot/cold items, cleaning chemicals, variable noise, and lighting
- Slip-resistant footwear required
