Software / DevOps Engineer 80-100% (f/m/d) - (Contract through our external payroll partner with immediate start until 31.12.2026 with possible extension)

We are looking for a Software / DevOps Engineer to support our development teams in migrating to the cloud and adopting DevOps best practices. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will play a key role in onboarding product teams to our internal DevOps platform and curated Azure services.

Requirements

• Software engineer with profound hands-on experience (5+ years) in application development (Java,.NET, Python, or similar)
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and migrating between toolchains (Bitbucket/Jenkins → GitLab)
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, Git workflows, and modern delivery practices
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience with deployment of containerized workloads and orchestration (Nexus, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working in air-gapped or restricted enterprise environments, where all external dependencies must be consumed from internal registries
• Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a strong advantage
• Fluency in English (written/verbal), German language skills are beneficial
• Excellent communication and coaching skills — able to simplify complex topics and guide teams through change
• Proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in agile environments (SAFe or similar) and collaborating across multiple teams
