Camp Director 2026 (Seasonal) - Chelsea Summer Camp

Kids in the Game provides unforgettable day camp experiences for hundreds of New York children across Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and now Westchester & Jersey City. The Chelsea Camp Director will be the heart of the camp, overseeing all aspects of camp management and creating a safe, memorable experience for the staff and campers.

Requirements

• Must have completed a physical exam and TB test within one year of the camp dates, pass NYS and national background checks, and be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
• Possess at least 5 years of overall camp experience and 2+ years of experience managing a day camp or sleepaway camp (Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director) with at least 60 campers.
• Possess your NYC Camp Director Certification (or be willing to attend the Orientation before Summer Camp 2024 begins).
• 5+ years experience as a Program Manager or Program Director for youth development after school and summer programs, or as a seasoned educator in a public / private setting (minimum of 5 years working with ages 4-13)
• Prior experience developing camp staff training materials, administering on-site training, and conducting staff evaluations.

Benefits

• Monthly stipends ranging from $150–$600 during pre-summer months
• $1,300–$1,500 per week during summer months
• End-of-camp bonus in the range of $300 - $500
