Airframe and Powerplant Specialist (Contingent)

The Airframe and Powerplant Specialist role is a contingent position for US Air Force personnel working at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Responsibilities include executing maintenance on aircraft, training on maintenance tasks, inventory control, and adhering to safety programs. Travel is required for extended periods.

Requirements

• High School diploma required
• Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred
• Current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required
• 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area
• Broad working knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft maintenance and inspection requirements
• Knowledgeable in documenting maintenance actions in any of the following (USAF, USN and US Army) aircraft records to include digital maintenance data systems
• Familiar with the installation of aerospace fasteners, rivets, nut plates etc.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
