Job Description
The Principal Investigator - Archaeologist is responsible for scheduling and managing small to medium projects or co-managing large ones, serving as field lead for Phase I-III fieldwork, and conducting research associated with archaeological investigations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Conducts archaeological field work with the ability to identify artifacts and determine the presence of archaeological sites
- Collects data and field samples during archaeological investigations
- Analyzes historic and pre-historic artifacts and features
- Documenting methodologies and findings of research and archaeological investigations
- Reviews and writes portions of archaeological reports and prepares archaeological site forms
- Assists in making decisions about project alternatives and the resolution of adverse effects to archaeological resources
- Works with technical field, lab and office staff, managers (Senior Archaeologist/Section Head) and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet JMT and professional quality standards
- May help with business development through assisting in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and other marketing materials
