Job Description
KQED is seeking a Director of Silicon Valley Philanthropy to secure new revenue streams from ultra-high net worth individuals, family foundations, and entities like LLCs and philanthropic advisories. This role involves cultivating donor relationships, identifying potential donors, and implementing strategies to increase philanthropic support. It requires a nuanced understanding of the philanthropic culture in Silicon Valley and building a portfolio of major gifts.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience working in Bay Area philanthropy
- Track record of major and principal gifts work
- Intimate familiarity with Bay Area philanthropy, families, institutions, and political donors
- Working knowledge of the technology sector and related areas
- Entrepreneurial mindset and motivation to build a program
- Experience consensus building internally and externally
- Sound judgment and ability to navigate gray areas
