The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner functions as an independent practitioner overseeing the patient care needs of all newborns within the assigned hospital.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider Program
- Pediatric or neonatal nursing experience and at least 2 years’ experience in a level II/III NICU position
- Current prescriptive writing authority in Minnesota or Wisconsin
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license by the Minnesota Board of Nursing or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
- Current Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) active through the Minnesota Board of Nursing or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
- Current Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification Corporation (NCC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
