Interpreter (Casual)

Langara College is seeking a Casual Interpreter to provide high-quality visual communication for students in a post-secondary setting. The Interpreter will interpret classroom lectures, course-related activities, campus events, or other assignments as directed by Accessibility Services.

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 and graduation from a recognized Interpreter Training Program (ITP)
• Four (4) years of recent related experience interpreting in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or oral interpretation and English in an educational setting
• Post-Secondary Sign Language Screen preferred (applies to sign language assignments)
• Membership in the Westcoast Association of Visual Language Interpreters (WAVLI) required
