Job Description
A US-based client is seeking a Systems Administrator for a long-term remote contract. The role involves maintaining reliable IT environments, managing servers and cloud systems, and ensuring performance, security, and uptime. The company offers a people-first culture with flexible work arrangements.
Requirements
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and/or Linux servers
- Monitoring infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity
- Managing user accounts, permissions, and backups
- Supporting virtualization and storage environments
- Troubleshooting incidents and performing root-cause analysis
- Implementing security updates, patches, and system hardening
- Communicating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO
- Virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Datadog, Prometheus)
- CI/CD or Infrastructure as Code exposure (Terraform, Ansible)
- Backup and disaster recovery planning
- Knowledge of ITIL or change management processes
