Sr. Electronics Technologist

As a Sr. Electronics Technologist, you will develop, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, operate, and maintain experimental, research, and prototype equipment associated with mechanical systems in the National Ignition Facility and Photon Science Directorate (NIF & PS).

Requirements

• Independently deploy, troubleshoot, assemble, and disassemble complex electronic systems, including planning and selecting materials and equipment, interpreting standards, establishing methods, and setting priorities.
• Independently identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternative approaches to complex problems using advanced creativity and judgment.
• Develop, author, implement, assess, or modify instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, operating, and maintaining equipment and systems.
• Provide advanced technical support to engineering tests, physics experiments, and program operations.
• Assist in developing complex test parameters, troubleshooting and testing materials, components, or systems, identifying problems, and providing input on solutions.
• Contribute to complex preliminary design concepts and engineering decision process.
• Prioritize and provide work and technical guidance to others by checking for accuracy, completeness, and function.
• Plan, organize, mentor, and lead projects of limited scope to meet defined objectives and schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
