Job Description
VDSS is seeking a Self-Sufficiency Specialist I or II to determine eligibility for various entitlement programs, focusing on Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and childcare. The role involves assessing employability, determining childcare needs, preparing purchase orders, and promoting employment services. This position requires independence in evaluating eligibility and assessment of social factors and utilizes VA CMS (VaCMS) and a computer.
Requirements
- High school diploma with supplemental training
- Experience determining eligibility for SNAP and Families and Children’s Medicaid
- Basic knowledge of human behavior
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Skill in operating a personal computer
- Communication skills
- Ability to apply common sense and solve problems
