Bovis is recruiting for a Construction Manager to support the Defence Estate Optimisation programme in the Staffordshire region. The successful candidate will have technical construction/engineering skills, organisational skills, and extensive knowledge of operational safety systems.
Requirements
- Support planning logistics phasing of all projects
- Preconstruction development of programme; scoping and project controls set up including delivery management systems and online quality control systems
- Develop and encourage an Incident and Injury Free climate on site and in the supply chain
- Supervise, direct, and monitor day-to-day operations on site
- Monitor the progress of construction works and amend the methodology as necessary
- Develop a clear plan of action to ensure contractors adhere to the Environmental Management Plan
- Actively participate in team meetings and communicate changes affecting Safety, methodology, or logistics
- Constantly review the build quality achieved with the team
- Ensure build ability issues are considered and given appropriate priority at procurement stage
- Produce a schedule of all statutory authorities and manage the process of engagement and notifications as required
- Support the Project/Assistant Manager to establish and manage meetings with contractors
- Prepare short-term programme linked to longer-term deliverables
- Communicate and monitor safe delivery against weekly plan
- Demonstrate leadership, effective team working, and contribute to the development of colleagues
- Develop delivery metrics for all key trades packages
- Ensure that the Construction operations processes and procedures are adhered to
