Interpreter - Gujarati (Onsite Position, Not Remote)

Lexington Medical Center, a hospital in Columbia, SC, is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to the community. They are seeking a part-time Spoken Language Interpreter to facilitate communication between patients and visitors, as well as between patients and LMC staff. The role requires fluent English and knowledge of another language to translate medical terms and enhance patient understanding. This position offers a rotating schedule with varying hours.

Requirements

• Demonstrate outstanding listening, analytical, and short-term memory skills.
• Demonstrate excellent language skills in both English and another language.
• Demonstrate an understanding of ethical and professional codes of conduct covering confidentiality, informed consent and privacy.
• Follow the guidelines of the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare (NCIHC).
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
