Staff Security Engineer

Lightspark is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to shape and drive security strategy for their open payments platform, powering applications like Connect and UMA. This role involves designing and building secure frameworks, conducting security reviews, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to prevent vulnerabilities. The position is focused on securing both crypto/blockchain domains and general security, and requires expertise in both application and infrastructure security.

Requirements

• 8+ years of security engineering experience
• Strong background in software engineering (at least one programming/scripting language)
• Deep knowledge of security fundamentals (secure coding, encryption, authentication, access control)
• Familiarity with industry standards/frameworks and blockchain/financial ecosystems
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• CS degree or equivalent background (optional)
