Child Welfare Specialist

Child Welfare Specialist position at Little City, responsible for casework-related functions in foster care and adoption within the child welfare system in Illinois, ensuring the safety, well-being, and permanency of children. Key duties include assessments, treatment planning, home visits, and communication with biological parents and siblings. Required to maintain records, complete case notes, and attend meetings. Physical requirements include frequent sitting, walking, and standing, with occasional lifting and manual dexterity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school
• 1 year of relevant experience working with children with developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional challenges
• Licensure as a Child Welfare Employee (CWEL) in the state of Illinois or eligibility within 90 days
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using a computer to complete documentation and entering case-related documentation into a centralized database
• Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
