Senior Software Engineer - Database Internals

They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on database internals, improving emulator functionality, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-fidelity cloud platform emulation for developers. The company supports an open-source community and boasts over 100k active users.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend or systems engineering, ideally within the database domain.
• Strong understanding of modern databases and data warehouses, SQL, query planning, and data features.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, BigQuery).
• Practical knowledge of distributed and analytical engines (Spark, Trino, PostgreSQL, DuckDB).
• Experience building developer tooling (CLI tools, SDKs).
• Proficiency in writing integration and regression tests.
• Familiarity with Docker and container networking.
• Experience with a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong programming skills in Python (Java a plus)
