Senior Systems Engineer

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead systems-engineer activities for avionics subsystems. The successful candidate will translate customer requirements into technical solutions and work on cutting-edge avionics systems that directly support national-defense missions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of professional systems-engineering experience or 3 years with a Master's degree
• Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – Preferably CAMEO
• Experience working on cross-functional teams (Hardware, Software, Integration/Test)
• Experience with requirements analysis and decomposition
• Experience interpreting and updating Interface Control Documents
• Knowledge of system design, requirements definition, and documentation standards (e.g., DO-178C)
• Familiarity with system verification/test documentation and conduct, including traceability matrix creation
• Programming proficiency in C, C++, or Python (for developing verification test code)
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded platforms
• Current active Secret security clearance
• Understanding of system architectures and how software verification integrates with overall system engineering
