Server - The Markham Hotel

The Server is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Present menus and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, or specials.
• Take customer orders accurately and ensure special requests are communicated to the kitchen and bar.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and in accordance with restaurant standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ensure guests’ needs are met, including refills, condiments, and other requests.
• Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
• Accurately process guest transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
• Ensure all charges are correct, provide receipts, and maintain accurate records of tips according to company policies.
• Clean and reset tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring the area is ready for the next party.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure food is handled, stored, and served correctly.
• Monitor and assist in managing inventory levels for dining and beverage supplies, including condiments, utensils, napkins, and other essential items.
• Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
• Assist with setting up and preparing for private events, banquets, or special functions.
