Job Description
Lone Star Legal Aid (LSLA) is seeking a Contract Staff Attorney to join its Houston Branch Office. The organization focuses on protecting the civil rights of low-income Texans by providing legal advocacy, representation, and community education. The role involves litigation, client consultation, and community engagement.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Law School
- Licensed to practice in Texas or qualify for reciprocity
- Strong legal writing and oral communication skills
- Client service orientation
- Skilled in interviewing, assessment, problem solving and negotiation
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly
- Ability to aggressively pursue client rights
- Energetic and self-starter
