Staff Attorney - Waco, TX

Lone Star Legal Aid is seeking a Staff Attorney to provide basic legal services to low-income Texans impacted by opiod-use disorders. The role involves providing advocacy, legal representation, and community education while representing clients in court and before government agencies. The attorney will also supervise and coordinate staff and participate in outreach activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Law School
• Licensed to practice in Texas or qualify for reciprocity
• Strong legal writing and oral communication skills
• Skilled in interviewing, assessment, problem solving and negotiation
• Demonstrated ability to aggressively pursue the rights of the client community
• Reliable transportation to travel throughout Texas counties.
