Provide technical veterinary support to faculty, house officers, and students in the large animal hospital. Handle livestock and instruct veterinary students on proper and safe handling of large animals. Support emergency cases and follow infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree OR Associate’s degree in veterinary technology OR CVT or equivalent OR 3 years of experience in a working environment with similar duties
- CVT or equivalent with 1 year of applicable experience (preferred)
- Certification as a vet tech or equivalent with 4 years experience (Veterinary Technician 3 only)
- 5 Years of experience in a working environment with similar duties (Veterinary Technician 3 only)
- 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician 1 at LSU SVM (Veterinary Technician 2 only)
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and "on-call"/relief shifts
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds, stand or walk for prolonged periods, and perform other physical tasks
