WAE - Veterinary Technician 1, 2, or 3 - Large Animal

The Large Animal Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This person will provide technical veterinary support to faculty, house officers, and students throughout the large animal hospital. It is essential that this person has expertise in handling livestock and is able to provide instruction to veterinary students on proper and safe handling of these potentially dangerous large animals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree OR Associate’s degree in veterinary technology OR CVT or equivalent OR 3 years of experience in a working environment with similar duties
• Ability to answer phone calls after hours from students for issues regarding department
• Required to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, able to reach above and below the shoulder, vision (near sight), vision (far sight), kneel or sit on the floor, push/pulling, grasping, climbing, crawling bending, squatting, and/or twisting
