This role is for a Fiber Splicer who will splice fiber optic cables and perform various technical tasks, maintaining a high standard of equipment and record-keeping.
Requirements
- Utilize proper techniques to splice fiber optic cable.
- Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables.
- Troubleshooting of fiber utilizing an OTDR.
- Strong communication skills are required between the splicer and tech ops manager.
- Proper record keeping and ability to review cable records.
- Knowledge, understanding, and practice of safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment and vehicle to a high standard.
- Work indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Night work as needed for things like node splits.
