Senior Data Scientist, Decisions - Lyft Business

Requirements

• Lead multiple high-impact Data Science and ML initiatives across Lyft Business product areas
• Define and implement decision frameworks, measurement strategies, experimentation designs, and causal inference methodologies
• Conduct deep, structured analyses across large-scale datasets to diagnose complex issues, quantify opportunities, and guide product, operational, and marketplace strategies
• Serve as the primary cross-functional science partner for your product areas, shaping roadmaps, identifying risks, and influencing decisions through clear, data-driven recommendations
• Build, refine, and scale monitoring systems and business health metrics
• Deliver integrated, high-quality analytical outputs spanning multiple projects while navigating ambiguity, cross-team dependencies, and open-ended scopes
• Write efficient, clean, production-level code (Python, SQL), ensuring reproducibility, documentation, and long-term maintainability of analytical assets
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and GTM
• Uplevel team decision-making, proposing new approaches, frameworks, and insights that improve product quality, customer outcomes, and operational efficiency
• Mentor junior and mid-level data scientists, providing technical guidance, coaching, and structured feedback to elevate analytical quality across the team
• Contribute to the Science community (hiring, onboarding, documentation, knowledge-sharing, tooling improvements)
