Lynker Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced GIS Specialist to join their growing team. The GIS Specialist will support the External Source Data Team in processing external source data, reviewing bathymetry data, and investigating submissions from external data providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hydrography, ocean mapping, physical science, marine science, oceanography, computer science, engineering, physics, physics, mathematics, related discipline, or equivalent
- 5-7 years in GIS, Computer Mapping, and/or Charting fields and 2-4 years in Hydrography
- Data analysis and GIS
- Software development including Python, Integrated Development Environments, debugging principles, continuous integration testing and automated documentation
- Databases and queries in PostgreSQL
- Geospatial applications such as QGIS, libraries such as Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL), and OGC web services
- Horizontal and vertical datums as well as transformations in the context of point and raster data
- Version control best practices and experience with version control software such as Git
- Mapping standards and techniques
- Container-based software development and deployment platforms
