Civil Engineer II/III

Civil Engineer II/III responsible for performing professional engineering tasks, ensuring conformance to design specifications and safety standards, and managing and directing construction, operations and maintenance activities of project sites.

Requirements

• Inspects project sites to monitor progress, ensure conformance to design specification and safety standards.
• Provides technical advice to appropriate personnel regarding design, construction or program modifications or structural repairs.
• Manages and directs the construction, operations and maintenance activities of project site.
• Supervises survey and inspection crews to ensure proper quality assurance, quality control of materials and methods in compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Participates in meetings with other governmental agencies, utility representatives, local offices and interested residents to work out details of schedule, inspections, utility conflicts and other potential problems.
• Prepares and maintains periodic pay estimates and required documentation for work performed.
• Maintains liaison with other Department of Roads divisions regarding interpretation, implementation and possible changes to a project.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
