Senior Database Engineer

Man Group is a global alternative investment management firm seeking a Senior Database Engineer to manage the Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server database estate. The team is responsible for day-to-day support and administration, engineering, and database-related projects. The role offers opportunities to work with exciting technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and exposure to DevOps aligned methods of automation, real-time monitoring, and metrics collection.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL RDBMS
• Foundational knowledge of MongoDB or SQL Server
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
• Proficiency in Linux
• Strong scripting skills (preferably Bash, PL/SQL, Python, Powershell)
• Experience of designing, building, configuring Data-Guard, RMAN
• Ability to diagnose and tune performance across the entire stack (Database internals, OS, Storage, Networks)
• Proven ability to automate builds and repetitive tasks
• Strong prioritization and project management skills
