Solutions Architect - Data Platform and Governance

MarketAxess is seeking a Solutions Architect to drive the design and implementation of its next-generation cloud-based, streaming Data Mesh platform. The successful candidate will contribute to the Data Mesh Architecture, drive the Data Management Strategy & Architecture, and enable decentralized data ownership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java engineering with 3+ years in data architecture, solutions architecture, or similar roles
• Strong belief in TDD and testing methodologies
• Proven experience contributing to or leading the implementation of Data Mesh, Data Lake, or modern data platforms
• Hands-on expertise in designing and deploying streaming data systems and distributed data architectures
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, including AWS and their services
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance standards
• Good understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies
• Experience writing technical proposals, developing architecture blueprints and strategies, and hands-on experience with data productization
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and containerization
