Markon is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to coordinate fire protection requirements for various projects, perform inspections, and communicate effectively to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering, with a registered fire protection engineer license in Maryland or Virginia.
Requirements
- Identify potential fire hazards and take action to eliminate them
- Monitor and resolve fire protection and life safety facilities issues and emergency situations
- Advise on fire protection systems, including purchase, modification, installation, maintenance, and operation
- Ensure fire protection features and systems are operational and conduct regular inspections
- Develop scopes of work, criteria, and provide expertise for fire protection system design and construction
- Manage new construction and renovation projects to validate compliance with project designs and specifications and applicable codes and standards
- Investigate fire alarms, supervisory alarms, and troubles to determine cause and provide oversight for resolution
- Prepare reports as required and maintain records
- Actively participate in fire drills
