Special Education Teacher – Transition Classroom

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and providing specialized instruction to students with developmental and physical disabilities, ages 18-26, in a transition classroom setting. The teacher will work collaboratively with the education team to develop IEPs and implement them in various environments, with the goal of empowering students to become productive members of their communities.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with K-12 special education endorsement
• Experience and familiarity with development and implementation of IEPs
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member
• Demonstrated ability to individualize instruction to meet unique student needs
• Chauffeur license required
