Safety Specialist - EHS Coordinator

Responsible for ensuring compliance with MSHA standards in the workplace and promoting a safe working environment by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures.

Requirements

• Field HSE support and guidance
• Ensuring compliance with State and Federal MSHA regulatory and contract HSE requirements
• Enforcing company policies and procedures
• Assisting in the development and delivery of safe Operational Processes
• Identifying potential and actual areas of improvement
• Providing input to leading and lagging HSE performance measures
• Assisting teams in identifying hazards and assessing risks
• Conducting and following up on workplace assessments
• Performing audits to measure the level of safety culture and inspections per audit plan
• Ensuring Incidents are recorded and reported
• Preparing initial detailed incident reports and conducting immediate Incident & Near Miss investigation
• Providing training sessions as per Training Plan & Competency development requirements
• Educating workforce on Lessons Learned from previous and industry incidents
• Creating and maintaining effective emergency response and contingency drills
• Measuring required environmental parameters
• Monitoring the quality of data entered in the reporting & action tracking tools
• Maintaining records for contractors and vendors
• Conducting Safety Site Specific training with all visitors and contractors
• Preparing Safety MSHA Site-Specific packets for contractors/vendors
• Document control
• New Miner training paperwork record keeping
• AIS sheets
• Track cards
• Vehicle inspections
• Monthly fire extinguisher inspections
• Annual hearing and pulmonary testing
