Preconstruction Director - San Jose

Preconstruction Director is responsible for participating in interviews, assisting in the preparation of responses to RFPs and RFQs, and overseeing the preconstruction process. The role involves providing value alternative solutions, preparing and submitting contract documents, and presenting deliverables to the owner. The Preconstruction Director also oversees the establishment and maintenance of budget control, attends and represents McCarthy in design and coordination meetings, and assists the project team in design decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and/or 10+ Years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience
• Proven experience managing preconstruction for large scale projects with emphasis on highly complex projects
• In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices required
• Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
• Experience leading successful team ventures, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities and subcontractor community
